Apila Group carried out a written insect study report for Savonia University of Applied Sciences in the autumn of 2020. Work was part of InsectSavo -project, that is developing the insect economy.
The report explored the exploitation of insects in the disposal of plastics on the farm. The feasibility of the work was assessed using the berry farm as an example, and the factors that promote and inhibit the implementation, as well as the main research needs.
Niina Huikuri, an expert at the Apila Group, will be in a webinar entitled “Circular Economy and Insects” on 16 February 2021 at 11:50am to speak on the results of insect exploitation in the treatment of plastic waste. (webinar will be in finish)
