The possibilities of utilising recycled rubber made from end-of-life tyres in various plastic product applications were investigated. A waste container was selected as the starting product for the review.
The work identified the starting points for the development of material and product: the raw materials and manufacturing technologies used and defined the requirements and markets for the product and materials. In addition, the techno chemical and economic suitability of recycled rubber for the product was assessed.
The work was carried out for Finnish Tyre Recycling Ltd.
